The College of Pharmacy at the University of Babylon is the first pharmacy college in Babylon Province and one of the main sources that supply the country with competent pharmaceutical professionals. It plays a vital role in enhancing healthcare and pharmaceutical services at both the clinical level and the pharmaceutical industry. The college was established in 2008, completing the medical group at the university, which includes the College of Medicine, the College of Dentistry, and the College of Nursing.

The College of Pharmacy provides the healthcare sector, medical centers, hospitals, and private pharmacies with highly skilled pharmacists. This is achieved through its undergraduate academic program, which follows the unified curriculum set by the Council of Pharmacy Deans in Iraq. This curriculum is largely aligned with the global standards adopted by renowned pharmacy colleges and meets the vision and mission of the college by ensuring all requirements for pharmaceutical education and scientific research are met. It also serves the demands of the local and regional job markets while aligning with professional requirements, enabling pharmacy graduates to work in various professional fields.

The college has sent several of its faculty members to prestigious European and international universities to enhance its academic standing. Additionally, it boasts a highly qualified teaching staff who have significantly contributed to improving the university’s national and international ranking. This has been achieved through their high Hirsch index ratings and the publication of numerous research papers in internationally recognized high-impact journals.

The College of Pharmacy aims to expand its international collaborations with its global counterparts, providing training opportunities for its faculty and students at leading pharmaceutical universities, institutes, and renowned companies worldwide. The college is actively engaged in local and international pharmaceutical fields, fostering academic and scientific cooperation with the Council of Pharmacy Deans in Iraq and the Pharmacists’ Syndicate. It continuously works on developing curricula and course content through its faculty members' participation in global pharmaceutical and chemical associations.

The college and its distinguished faculty members, including innovative scientists, have received numerous international and local awards, patents, and recognition through their participation in global exhibitions and conferences.
