The College of Pharmacy at the University of Babylon is the first in the province of Babylon; it was founded in 2008, and it is thus one of the most essential sources that provide the country with efficient pharmaceutical cadres that contribute to strengthening health and pharmaceutical services at the clinical level as well as the pharmaceutical industry.

The University of Babylon is one of the largest universities in Iraq. It is situated on the banks of the Euphrates River in the province of Babil in central Iraq. A new research paper was published in an international journal, conducted by Dr. Haidar Abis Hashem and Dr. Mohammed Baqir Al-Shehib (Al-Qasim Green University). The study tested 5599 compounds derived from 151 medicinal plants using molecular docking, molecular dynamics, and other advanced software and databases. It concluded that the compound D-Glucosamine effectively inhibits this enzyme with high efficiency. The research was published in the journal Biochemical Genetics, which is indexed in Scopus and Clarivate with a site score of 3.9, and it is part of the Springer Nature publishing house.
