A scientific trip for college students to the Golden Gate of Iraq Company (Medical Syringes Factory)
Under the direct supervision of Professor Dr. Hussam Wahab Sahib, Dean of the College of Pharmacy, and under the direction of the Head of the Laboratory and Clinical Sciences Department, Professor Dr. Amal Talib, and organized by Professor Dr. Rasha Hadi, with the participation of Professor Dr. Samah Ahmed, Assistant Professor Dr. Nour Hadi, Assistant Professor Dr. Rasha Abdul Mahdi, and Assistant Professor Dr. Zaman Ibrahim, and in cooperation with the College s Student Activities Unit, represented by Professor Dr. Ahmed Amer and Assistant Professor Muhannad Karim, a scientific trip was organized for second-year students to the Golden Gate of Iraq Company (Medical Syringes Factory) in the holy city of Karbala.
The professors and students were received by company staff, headed by the General Manager, who expressed their warm welcome. An introductory lecture was given by the factory manager to explain the factory s operating mechanism, its departments, and its usefulness, as well as the specifications of the syringes produced.
A tour of the factory was also conducted, where they provided a comprehensive explanation of the factory s production process, workflow, raw materials, final production, and sterilization. They also learned about the modern technology, machinery, and equipment available at the factory. The tour included scientific interventions and questions from faculty and students.
The trip was a success on both the organizational and cognitive levels, achieving its intended goal of enriching students with modern sciences and field experience. It also emphasized the importance of these activities in enhancing knowledge and connecting it to reality. Scientific field trips are an effective educational method that expands students knowledge base.
At the end of the visit, faculty members thanked the officials and staff for their warm welcome and hospitality. The students expressed their desire to repeat such trips in the future, bringing fresh ideas that enrich awareness and contribute to building a more knowledgeable and aware society.
