Assistant Professor Dr. Rafah Salim Hassan Al-Mutairi participated in the discussion of the doctoral student researcher Nada Mahdi Abdul-Ridha Al-Khafaji / Histology specialization on her thesis entitled (Study of the effect of the alcoholic extract of the plant Alhagi maurorum on male albino rats injected with the drug sulfadimidine, a physiological, histological and immunological study). The aim of the study was to study the effect of the plant Alhagi maurorum on the histological, immunological and physiological changes in the liver and urinary system to treat the changes and side effects resulting from injection with the drug sulfadimidine. The conclusion was that the alcoholic extract of the plant Aakoul has a therapeutic effect through studying the levels of liver enzymes ALT AST & ALP as well as kidney functions creatinine & BUN and their return to normal levels after a significant increase in their levels as a result of the drug injection, which caused a physiological and histological change in the liver, kidneys and bladder. The study also used the immunohistochemical marker Kim-1 to determine the harmful effect of the drug on the kidneys and treat them with the plant extract. The discussion took place at the University of Babylon / College of Science / Department of Life Sciences
