The College of Pharmacy at the University of Babylon is the first in the province of Babylon; it was founded in 2008, and it is thus one of the most essential sources that provide the country with efficient pharmaceutical cadres that contribute to strengthening health and pharmaceutical services at the clinical level as well as the pharmaceutical industry.

Attendance at the periodic committee meeting of the Deans of Pharmacy Colleges Professor Dr. Hossam Wahab Sahib, Dean of the esteemed College of Pharmacy, attended the periodic committee meeting at the College of Pharmacy, Baghdad. He was received by Mr. Sarim Hashim Al-Khatib, the esteemed Chairman of the Deans of Pharmacy Colleges, and other esteemed deans of pharmacy colleges. The periodic committee meeting was held in the premises of the College of Pharmacy, University of Baghdad, on Thursday, August 8, 2024. The meeting included several important topics, the most significant of which were: Analysis of the results of the current academic year’s assessment exam and the importance of the colleges following up on these results in order to improve the reality of the educational process in pharmacy colleges, striving to enhance the quality of their outputs, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and honoring the top students from each college to encourage excellence. The attendees also discussed the importance of reviewing and updating the curricula. Additionally, the ratio of teachers to students in pharmacy colleges and its significance for the educational process and some administrative measures were discussed. The mechanisms to support the government s direction in localizing the pharmaceutical industry were also addressed. The meeting concluded with recommendations aimed at enhancing institutional and scientific integration among all Iraqi pharmacy colleges, benefiting the strengthening of pharmaceutical education and the graduation of pharmacists with high levels of knowledge, skills, and conduct to serve the Iraqi health sector.
