University of Babylon - Medicine College Media

The College of Pharmacy at the University of Babylon holds an educational seminar entitled Violence and Its Impact on Women s Mental Health.
Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Amin Ajeel Yasser, the esteemed President of the University of Babylon, and supervised by Professor Dr. Hussam Wahab Sahib, the respected Dean of the College of Pharmacy, the Women s Affairs Unit at the College of Pharmacy / University of Babylon, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit at the college, held an educational seminar entitled Violence and Its Impact on Women s Mental Health. It was managed by Dr. Samah Ahmed Kazem, the Women s Affairs Unit Liaison Member at the college, and presented by Dr. Asil Mohammed Imran on Monday, 9/3/2026, as part of the Third National Plan for implementing the National Strategy to Combat Violence Against Women and Girls for 2026, Paragraph One: Combating Violence Against Women and Girls.

The seminar addressed the importance of highlighting the negative effects of violence in its various forms—physical, psychological, verbal, and social—as exposure to violence leads to many psychological problems such as anxiety, depression, chronic stress, and loss of a sense of security and self-confidence, which negatively affects women s mental health and their ability to perform their family and social roles.
