The College of Pharmacy at the University of Babylon is the first in the province of Babylon; it was founded in 2008, and it is thus one of the most essential sources that provide the country with efficient pharmaceutical cadres that contribute to strengthening health and pharmaceutical services at the clinical level as well as the pharmaceutical industry.

The College of Pharmacy at the University of Babylon holds a workshop entitled Transmissible Diseases and How to Prevent Them. Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Amin Ajeel Yasser, the respected President of the University of Babylon, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Hussam Wahab Sahib, the respected Dean of the College of Pharmacy, the Women s Affairs Unit at the College of Pharmacy / University of Babylon, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit in the college, held a workshop entitled Transmissible Diseases and How to Prevent Them, managed by Dr. Samah Ahmed Kazem, the Women s Affairs Unit Liaison in the college. The workshop featured presentations by Ms. D. Zaman Ibrahim Lafi on Wednesday, 8/4/2026, as part of the plan related to disease vectors and the diseases they transmit. The workshop contributed to familiarizing individuals with the nature of infectious diseases and their modes of transmission, which helps adopt effective preventive behaviors that reduce their spread. It also emphasized the importance of personal hygiene, vaccination, and food safety, in addition to adhering to health guidelines, which positively affects the health of individuals and the community. Furthermore, it enhances the ability for early detection of symptoms and proper management, thereby preventing complications, relieving the burden on the healthcare system, and contributing to building a more aware and prepared society to confrontEpidemics: The workshop recommended the necessity of adhering to the promotion of health awareness through continuous education about ways of infection transmission and methods of prevention, emphasizing the importance of personal hygiene and the necessity of early detection of symptoms and consulting health institutions when needed, in addition to supporting healthy behaviors in schools and the community and activating the role of the media in spreading awareness messages, which contributes to reducing the spread of diseases and protecting public health.
